What makes Spill Hound® Acid different?
![]() |
Acid spill products are NOT all the same... Spill Hound® Acid was formulated to address the tricky problem of acid spill control, in particular to address the weaknesses of the existing methods. Typically, acid spills are handled by dilution or neutralisation, or a combination of both. Both methods can suffer from the generation of acid aerosol mists, either by water impact or by the reaction with a neutralising carbonate or even an alkali metal hydroxide. Acid aerosols are easily carried in the air, and can represent an even greater risk than the original spillage.

How does it work? Spill Hound acid uses a combination of multi-carbonate neutralisation within the proven Spill Hound® absorption matrix. Acid spills are safely neutralised whilst safely encapsulated in Spill Hound® absorbent. Acid areosols are completely eliminated while the acid is gently and safely neutralised. After neutralisation, the spill is simply swept up and disposed of as solid, waste which may not be classified as hazardous (depends on the precise nature of the acid). |
